Paperwork and specimens relating to 19th century scientific expeditions: the H.M.S. Challenger (1872–76) and U.S.S. Albatross, found together in one drawer in old wooden cabinet.
These are likely all part of the collections of Prof. John Joly. The paperwork has been moved into archival box folders. Copies are included in the drawer with the specimens.
